Nitecore UT27 MB Red Light Trail Running Headlamp

The NITECORE UT27 MB is a trail running headlamp for Australian runners who head out after dark. It combines a high-output red light with three colour temperatures from NiteLab MCT UHE LEDs. The red light delivers 150 lumens and a 70 metre beam for red-light-only sections in certain trail races, while TURBO reaches 800 lumens and 168 metres. It is a lightweight head torch for running, from night training to long-distance races.

The main-light-level red light illuminates rocks, roots and uneven terrain underfoot, while its long-range lens helps you spot trail markers further ahead. Unlike conventional 2 to 10 lumen red auxiliary lights, mainly designed for gear checks and signalling, this red light headlamp lights the route ahead. Choose 150, 80 or 10 lumens, or switch to SOS and slow flashing for emergency signalling and warning.

Three Colour Temperatures and CRI Options

Two quad-core MCT UHE LEDs give this running headlamp three colour temperatures for changeable conditions on Australian trails. 3000K warm light (CRI 98) supports clear vision in rain, fog and snowfall, 4500K neutral white (CRI 85) suits steep, muddy or snow-covered tracks, and 6500K cool white (CRI 73) gives high visual brightness on broad, flat terrain.

Dual Power Options and Runtime

The included HLB1500 (1,500mAh) battery pack charges via its built-in USB-C port in approximately 1 hour 30 minutes, with no separate charger needed. It runs the colour temperatures for up to 14 hours 30 minutes at 100 lumens and the red light for up to 21 hours at 10 lumens. The NITECORE UT27 MB is a rechargeable head torch that also accepts 3 x AAA alkaline or Ni-MH batteries.

Lightweight Trail Running Head Torch Design

At 74g including the bracket, headband and battery, the UT27 MB is designed to reduce gear weight on the trail. The breathable, reflective headband helps keep sweat off, and the bracket tilts up to 90°. The PC housing is IP66 rated against dust and rain, with impact resistance to 1 metre, and lockout mode prevents accidental activation during transport.
